What are you looking for today?...Fat Pants:)

So I have no pants that fit me. I am now in a wardrobe that consists of skirts and sweats. Nice and stretchy:) A couple of weekends ago we went to the races and I needed to look presentable...and skirts just weren't appropriate for the occasion...so I stared at my pants drawer for a really long time hoping that magically I would have shrunk or my pants would have grown since the last time I checked. I found a pair I thought could maybe work and I heaved and hoed and shook and jumped and got those darn pants up past my hips enough to cover my bum. They were so tight I didn't even attempt to do them up! Slapped my belly band on and was good to go. ANYWAY...
Last week I got some coupons in the mail so I decided to venture to the mall. This is not my favorite thing to do because (1) Peyson is a total terror and (2) it's just not as fun to go shopping for the body I am in. But I was desperate.
I avoided the maternity section in every store...and only to LOOK did I even enter MotherHood Maternity...can I just say maternity clothes are disgusting and dreadful and I despise them with a passion! It's ok though, Maurices didn't disappoint! One size bigger than my norm did the trick...but one can never tell how large I will continue to grow with this pregnancy, since it's already way different from last time. So to be safe I went another size up from there...room to grow. They are fabulous and especially LONG!!! Woohoo!
When Derek got home yesterday I was so excited I had to show him! Later in the evening I turned to him and said..."just so you know...I'm not really a 13/14, I just didn't want to grow out of some brand new pants in a month!" He looked at me like...what are you talking about...I don't know what size you are...and I really don't care:)
Maybe I was needing to hear it a little more than I needed him to hear it. So I had to laugh. It was funny.
But I love wearing jeans again...I feel like myself. Side note: got a new medication and am feeling GREAT!!! It's amazing.

FAT Baby

Today was my second baby doctor appointment. I checked in and waited. The nurse called me back and checked my blood pressure. Then I stepped on the scale. HOLY MOLY! Can I just tell you I am FAT?!?!?!?!?!?! Total weight gain and counting...at 16 weeks...I have gained 12 pounds. What the crap? At this rate I am set to gain...almost 54 pounds!!! Oh my heck. Ok well anyway, it's going to be real fun trying to lose all that. Eeeek!
AnYwAy...
The nurse checked the baby's heart beat. Totally thought the doctor would do that so I was a little confused. But it was fine. Well, that is...when she finally found it. She was just too high on my (very round) tummy, so it was taking forever. I was getting nervous, holding my breath. She finally found it and I smiled and could breath again. It sounded good.
I really like my doctor...but it seems like anymore the nurses do all the work and the doctor comes in for questions. So he wasn't there for long, but he is really good at making everything comfortable and open and he acts like he actually cares about me as a person and not just some other patient. I know I am in good hands.
So that's the haps here. Time to start walking more and eating less:)

Re-Living The Glory Days

So I play church volleyball. It's been about 4 weeks since the season started. I didn't have high expectations...you know...a bunch of older(and what I mean by older is "not my high school body" older) out of shape ladies with little to no experience. Yes, a 24 year old body is considered older. I sure don't move like I used to. And no experience equals "I didn't play in high school." Anyway. Nobody shows up on time so it was looking like we would only have 4 players. We called around and anyway...bla bla bla...started playing with 5. We lost the first game by 3...but our 6th player showed up, rushed from a lacrosse game, wearing sandals so she played bare foot! Super trooper! But man she showed up just in time. The next game we smoked 'em 25-4. That's right:) I'm just a little competitive! The last game we were totally winning but let them almost win. Then we showed them...and barely won by 2...16-14. Sheesh it was close. SO MuCh FuN!

Just gotta brag a little...because I usually don't get to...they put a setter right by me because I can hit:) And man did I hit. Thanks to the setter of course...I haven't felt that good in years. It was awesome! And they stroked my ego by adding that I was so amazing to play pregnant. I felt pretty cool.

Anyway...such a fun night! Loved every minute of it. Can't wait for next week!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

Peyson has a really cool uncle named Logan. He works at the race tracks. And he got us tickets to the races today! I will be the first to tell you that at our house, nascar is put on when we want to take Sunday naps! So when Derek suggested we go...I wasn't thrilled. But I figured Peyson would LOVE it because his favorite movie ever is Cars. When we are at the grocery store or just driving down the street he always has to serpentine. Anyway...
Once inside the gates there were trucks and trailers and tents set up everywhere. It took like 10 minutes just to walk to the grand stands. All the while we could hear the race cars zoom by. We got to the stands and found a seat...and this is what happened

It was soooo loud. But Logan saved the day! We got to see some pit row action when we first got there. We watched most of this race. It was pretty exciting to see the finish, even though the lead car smoked everybody. Then there was a short race with the mustangs. Between races we stood up and turned around and watched some of them going to the track. I randomly took a picture of this car...

He won the race:)
The 4th placer's mom was standing up by us...so we had somebody to watch...it was pretty exciting watching him try to gain a spot...then during a diaper change, missed him pass the guy and then get passed by another guy. The 2nd place guy came from last to 2nd. It was pretty cool.
I tell you what, real life racing is way more exciting than nascar on tv. I think I ended up enjoying the race more than Peyson. It was super cool!
And since we knew a guy on the pit crew...Peyson got to check out one of the cars!

And then he was dancing to the surround sound on the way back to the car.

What a fun day!
